THE AUTHORS:
Dona Bakker and Tami Riedeman, empty-nesters and best friends for many years, produced this hilarious novel. Dona lives in California with her husband of over 50 years. She has two grown children. She owned and operated her own secretarial service for over 40 years. Tami lives in Minnesota with her husband. She also has two grown children. Tami has been writing short stories and poetry most of her life and the two friends have fulfilled their dream of writing together. Despite the miles, writing together strengthened their friendship and they have also written the sequel, "The Golden Road Detour."

The adventures of Grandy and Bernice continue as they travel down the Golden Road in their game show prize, a 26' motor home. Disgruntled family members and a few eccentric characters they meet along the way keep the reader rolling in laughter. There is a twist to the story, however, a detour of sorts, which perpetuates hilarious family dynamics not even Grandy and Bernice could have predicted.
